DOSE magazine is a community lead initiative designed to provide tips and tricks about surviving the Covid-19 Lockdowns. The target audience are females ages 20-35. DOSE stands for the chemicals in the brain that are responsible for the feelings of happiness. These are Dopamine (the reward chemical), Oxytocin (the love hormone), Serotonin (the mood stabiliser) and Endorphin (the pain killer).

The Overall Design & Style

This magazine is positive and bright, it has so much personality, colour and human touch. This is to provide a positive experience for the audience who may be feeling low. To assist in the clarity of information and the user experience I have designed systems within the magazine. It is divided into the four sections, each hormone is introduced with a full colour page with white typography and a white line drawings that loosely represents how the chemical can make someone feel. To create a sense of horizontal flow in the grid structure I created an upper and lower horizontal flow-line. The introduction pages of each hormone aligned to the lower and on the activity pages, the typography aligned to the upper flow-line. The readers are also provided with clues at the top of each page with icons to say whether it is a one minute read or activity.
